Hairpin brought me on to help create and direct the video content for Carole King & James Taylor's Troubadour Reunion World Tour.
The Troubadour is an historic, intimate music club in Los Angeles and an important touchstone for James and Carole’s musical relationship. Our biggest challenge? How to create that same sense of intimacy in a giant arena. We created 35 song-specific videos that played on a 16-foot tall circular LED screen which rotated above the artists in an in-the-round stage set-up.
The tour was 57 nights in 46 cities — and became one of the top 10 grossing tours of that year.
